In Italy, we’re known for our long history in volleyball, and the region of Emilia-Romagna, home to Celanese’s Forlì, Italy facility, is playing a leading role in this sport. In January an important event took place. The most successful teams contributing to the advocacy of youth sports received a quality certificate by the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV). We are very proud our Celanese Volley Forlì team obtained this great recognition.
Sports have always been a critical tool for providing growth opportunities to young people in the area and the Celanese team competes in six different championships, with teams in the under 14, under 16, under 18, under 20, as well as the “Mini Volley” groups specifically for younger children. In total, there’s around 120 children involved in and regularly playing for Celanese Volley Forlì. Celanese is proud of the commitment we as a company and our employees show in supporting the communities we operate in globally and locally, and Volley Forlì is a good example of this commitment. Congratulations to all our teams and their coaches for your dedication!
Living in a sporting society, as well as for the entire Forlì community, our young people represent the future, and it is essential that they become passionate about sports. Volleyball is based on the collective and team spirit, two fundamental values to be transmitted to those who will be tomorrow’s athletes and adults.
Here are a few of our youth on a mission to show the community how to dribble.
