We Are The “CHEMpions”
On June 13th more than 63,000 participants ran or walked 3.5 miles between towering skyscrapers while enjoying the beautiful Frankfurt skyline at the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge. Nearly 100 Celanese employees ran for a good cause under the “We are the CHEMpions” motto. Participants represented 5 Celanese locations, including Kaiserslautern, Amsterdam, Budapest, Sulzbach and Frankfurt. After the run, everyone met together to enjoy the great weather with a bratwurst washed down by a cool beverage to celebrate.
Top 6 Community Impact Stories From 2016
Through our efforts to reach our goal of 100,000 volunteer hours last year, we made some great memories along the way and had a huge impact in our communities around the world. We wanted to take a moment to highlight the top stories from some of our locations.
So, as we kick off 2017, let’s take a look back at the top 6 community impact stories of 2016.
Celanese And City Year: Making Better Happen In Dallas
The hallways of Franklin D. Roosevelt High School are now much quieter than they were a month ago. Students are taking a break from lessons and lectures as they enjoy the summer months. Though, when they return, their hallways, gyms, and outdoor spaces will be more beautiful than when they left thanks to the partnership of City Year and the Celanese Foundation. On May 29th, nearing the end of the school year, Celanese employees visited Roosevelt to paint the hallways and gyms, plant gardens, and build picnic tables to create a more welcoming environment for the students when they return.
How CCA Is Helping To Bring Hope And Change Lives
My name is Courtney and I am a single mother who came to Christian Community Action (CCA) at the suggestion of a friend. I had been on bed rest for months through a difficult pregnancy, and was unemployed. I had lost my home due to a recent divorce and was also unable to make my car payments. I was only able off the street because relatives gave me and my children a room.
Celanese Foundation Annual Giving Fair – Giving Hope!
Recently at the Celanese company headquarters in Dallas, more than 40 non-profit organizations in the areas of health, education, hunger and shelter spent two hours sharing their organizations services with more than 250 employees and visitors at the Celanese Foundation Annual Giving Fair. The event was followed up with a survey allowing employees the opportunity to provide feedback on agencies and areas they want the Celanese Foundation to financially support in the future.
Hope is so important to this endeavor, and it was encouraging to see hope in action. As an event planner for Celanese, setting up and preparing for the organizations, employees and guests — and then watching everyone…
Paying It Forward – Investing In Our Community
Have you ever had a day where you are told how great you are? Or called a “Rock Star” no matter which direction you turned? How about receiving not just one or two notes of thanks and praise, but a handful of personal cards and letters with heartfelt notes of appreciation recognizing your phenomenal acts of kindness? That was my day at MC Lively Elementary School in Irving.
On behalf of Celanese, we gave 900 students school supply items, customized T-shirts and backpacks. Students could barely contain their excitement as Celanese volunteers paraded up and down hallways handing out backpacks with school supplies and T-shirts. Several students said that they would never be able to afford these types of necessary school items without…
